Physician - Urgent Care (Martinez, CA)
Organization:
U.S.Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Northern California Health Care System Location:
Martinez VA Medical Center, 150 Muir Rd, Martinez, CA 94553 (Community-Based Outpatient Clinic)Position Highlights Schedule:
Full-time, Monday-Friday; Clinical hours approximate ~36 hours/week, flexible within urgent care frameworkSetting:
On-site urgent care at Martinez VA CBOC-acute, non-life-threatening conditions only (after-hours emergencies are referred to 911) Key Responsibilities Diagnose and treat Veterans presenting with minor injuries, acute illnesses, and non-critical conditions Order diagnostic tests (labs, imaging), perform point-of-care procedures, manage medications, and initiate referrals Collaborate with multidisciplinary VA teams to ensure continuity of care and follow-up Adhere to VA clinical protocols, documentation standards, and veteran-centered care guidelinesQualifications & Requirements Degree:
MD or DO from accredited institutionLicensure:
Full, unrestricted U.S. medical licenseTraining:
Residency in Emergency, Family, or Internal Medicine with significant urgent care/emergency experience preferredBoard Status:
Board-certified or board-eligibleCitizenship:
U.S. citizenship required (exceptions when qualified citizens unavailable)Compensation & Benefits Salary Range:
$260,000 - $325,000 annuallyLeave:
50-55 days/year (26 annual + 13 sick + 11 federal holidays + CME days)Retirement:
Federal pension (vests in 5 years) + Thrift Savings Plan with matchingInsurance:

$1,000/year for full-time, board-certified providersMalpractice Protection:
