In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical assessments, treatment, and management across a broad spectrum of urgent health concerns. Your expertise will ensure patients receive prompt, compassionate care in a fast-paced environment while adhering to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and clinical excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on community health through dynamic patient interactions and collaborative teamwork. Duties Conduct thorough patient evaluations including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history assessments using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Diagnose acute illnesses and injuries, utilizing advanced clinical skills in areas such as trauma care, infectious disease management, and acute pain control. Perform procedures including I&D's, suturing, in-grown toenail removal, IV insertion and infusion, phlebotomy, wound care, and sterile processing techniques. Administer medications and injections following HIPAA guidelines and proper medication administration protocols. Manage patient cases efficiently by triaging urgent conditions, coordinating with specialists for complex cases like cardiology or gastroenterology consults, and providing follow-up care instructions. Utilize diagnostic tools such as sonography or laboratory testing to support clinical evaluations; interpret results accurately for diagnosis and treatment planning. Document all patient encounters meticulously in EMR/EHR systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, radiologists, behavioral health specialists, and case managers to optimize patient outcomes. Engage in telehealth consultations when appropriate to extend care access; participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards. Experience Proven experience working in urgent care settings or emergency medicine environments with exposure to Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Office Ally, Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with CPT coding and
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding is highly desirable. Background in managing diverse patient populations including pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), geriatrics (memory care/dementia), assisted living residents, or individuals with developmental disabilities enhances your candidacy. Critical care experience including ICU work, hospital medicine rotations, or post-acute care settings demonstrates your capacity for high-pressure decision-making. Additional skills such as trauma triage, airway management (ventilator use), infection control protocols, and acute pain or opioid management are valued assets. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology principles, CPT coding practices for billing purposes, and documentation standards ensures precise recordkeeping. Join us to be part of a vibrant healthcare team committed to delivering exceptional urgent care services! We value proactive professionals eager to utilize their broad skill set—ranging from basic life support to advanced procedures—in a supportive environment dedicated to community well-being.
