SUMMARY:
The Neurology Division for Alameda Health System is seeking a full-time neurologist with expertise in both inpatient and outpatient general neurology. Alameda Health System is the safety net provider for the diverse and complex patient population of Alameda County. Alameda Hospital is a community hospital with 161 beds and is a designated primary stroke center. This provider will be joining a community of highly trained, driven providers who strive for excellence in our care of underserved patients. We are seeking a highly qualified, organized, efficient, mission-oriented neurologist to join our growing division. The division culture is collaborative and supportive, with weekly case conferences. Ability to perform EMGs and/or read EEGs is strongly preferred but not required.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
NOTE:
Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification. 1. Outpatient general neurology clinic at the Highland Wellness Clinic (ideally including EMG/NCS clinic) 2. Part-time coverage of inpatient consults at Alameda Hospital, where the typical daily consult census is fewer than 5 patients and acute stroke and other neurologic emergencies are managed by a separate teleneurology service. There is no weekend coverage and no overnight call.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) is required. Advanced fellowship training in neuromuscular or neurophysiology preferred (not required). Board-certified or eligible in Neurology.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the State of California. Valid DEA license
Pay Range:
$177.09 - $187.59 per hour The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization. Note:
This position is primarily focused on inpatient medicine consultation at Alameda and/or San Leandro Hospital. Additional component of coverage will be in the general neurology ambulatory clinics at Highland Hospital. Multiple sites of work. No telecommuting. This requires onsite presence.
