Steinbeck Peninsula Equine Clinics (SPEC) is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible equine surgeon with a strong interest in sports medicine and lameness to join our progressive, equine-exclusive practice on California's Central Coast. This position offers a rare combination of advanced surgical capability, high-level imaging, a strong referral base, and an exceptional quality of life in one of the most desirable equestrian regions in the country. Our world-class team consists of 22 doctors including multiple board-certified surgeons and internal medicine specialists, more than 30 skilled support staff, and consulting specialists in sports medicine, cardiology, oncology and opthamology. Hospital & Diagnostic Capabilities Our practice features: Modern surgical suite with dedicated anesthesia support Standing MRI CT Nuclear scintigraphy (bone scan) Digital radiography & ultrasound Comprehensive lameness evaluation capabilities We also operate a busy satellite clinic in Menlo Park serving the San Francisco Bay Area sport horse community. Caseload & Opportunity Diverse surgical caseload including elective and emergency procedures Strong sports medicine and performance horse population Established referral relationships throughout Northern California Opportunity to further develop surgical and sports medicine services Supportive team of experienced clinicians and staff Active collaboration with referring veterinarians and farriers.
