This is a full-time opportunity within one of the nation's premier military healthcare systems, providing comprehensive care to active-duty military personnel, retirees, and their dependents. Physicians will practice in a collaborative environment alongside multidisciplinary healthcare teams while helping train the next generation of military medical professionals. Independent Contractor Practice Setting:
Outpatient Internal Medicine Military Treatment Facility Teaching environment with residents and medical students What You'll Do As an Internal Medicine Physician, you will provide comprehensive primary care and preventive services to adult patients while working within an integrated healthcare system.
Responsibilities include:
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and physical examinations Develop and manage treatment plans Order and interpret diagnostic testing Coordinate referrals and specialty consultations Provide preventive medicine and wellness counseling Manage complex adult medicine cases Maintain accurate electronic medical records Participate in clinical and administrative meetings Support graduate medical education through resident and student teaching activities Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine Current, unrestricted California medical license Current DEA registration, as applicable Ability to obtain military facility credentials and security requirements Strong interpersonal and communication skills Why Physicians Consider This Opportunity Stable federal healthcare environment Predictable weekday schedule No call burden No weekend coverage No holiday coverage Opportunity to teach residents and medical students Collaborative multidisciplinary care team Mission-focused patient population Beautiful San Diego location What to Expect Qualified candidates will complete credentialing and onboarding requirements prior to beginning clinical duties.
