Job Description Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Orthopedic Trauma About SAMGI Surgical Affiliates Management Group (SAMGI) is a physician-owned and led surgical services organization partnering with hospitals and health systems nationwide to deliver high-quality Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, Orthopedic Trauma, Neurosurgery, and Surgical Critical Care programs. About the Program Regional Medical Center San Jose serves as a high-acuity urban trauma center caring for a broad spectrum of acute musculoskeletal injuries, including complex pelvic and acetabular fractures. This is an excellent opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider seeking a highly collaborative orthopedic trauma environment with significant clinical exposure and operative experience. Position Overview SAMGI is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to support our Orthopedic Trauma service at Regional Medical Center San Jose. The APP will work closely with the orthopedic trauma surgeons to provide comprehensive inpatient care management, assist with new consultations, support perioperative care, and participate in operative cases. This role is ideal for providers who thrive in fast-paced clinical environments and are passionate about orthopedic and trauma patient care. Responsibilities Round daily with the on-call orthopedic trauma surgeon Evaluate and manage new orthopedic trauma consults Assist in the operating room Coordinate treatment plans and ongoing patient management Provide inpatient orthopedic trauma care and follow-up Collaborate closely with surgeons, nursing staff, therapists, and hospital teams Ensure timely documentation and communication regarding patient care plans Schedule & Practice Details 10-hour shifts On-site coverage daily from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Full-time schedule consists of 183 shifts annually No after-hours call responsibilities Additional shifts compensated at $781 per shift Compensation & Benefits Annual compensation: $142,923 Full benefits package including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Annual CME stipend Paid professional liability coverage Paid time off and CME time Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program Current California NP or PA licensure DEA certification and appropriate prescriptive authority Orthopedic, trauma, surgery, or acute care experience preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity clinical environment Why San Jose?
