Job Description

Summary SUMMARY :
The Neurologist is to diagnose and treat various neurological conditions and overall manage and coordinate patient care throughout treatment.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
:
NOTE:
Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification. 1. Diagnosing and managing patients with Neurologic disorders in both the outpatient and inpatient settings 2. Maintenance and development of clinical programs and patient care delivery model(s) that are consistent with current professional standards and with the mission, vision, and values of the organization with a focus on inpatient neurologic diseases. 3. Participates in committee work for the Division, Department and Hospital 4. Attends Division and monthly Departmental meetings 5. Works with the Chief of Neurology and curriculum committee to develop a curriculum for teaching the Internal Medicine residents. 6. Active role in developing inpatient protocols for management of neurologic emergencies (Stroke, Status Epilepticus etc.) 7. Teaching and supervision of Internal Medicine residents and medical students 8. Providing evaluation of and feedback to trainees 9. Assisting the Residency Leadership team in curriculum development for Neurology 10. Serving as a professional role model for trainees with peers, patients, families and other members of the health care team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
:
Education :
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) is required. Advanced fellowship training as a neurohospitalist, in neurovascular neurology or in neurocritical care preferred. Board certified or eligible in Neurology.
Required Licenses/Certifications :
Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the State of California. Valid DEA license
Pay Range:
On Call Weekend Night $400 per Shift Onsite Day Neurology $199.42 Per Shift The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
