  • Part-time, Contract Job Summary We (YMS) are seeking a dedicated and skilled Part-Time Dermatologist to provide expert dermatological care within a out-patient/Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dermatology, with the ability to deliver comprehensive skin care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and patient education. This role offers an opportunity to serve diverse patient populations, emphasizing accessible and equitable healthcare. The dermatologist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes while maintaining adherence to clinical standards and safety protocols. Salary & Employment Options Part-Time (W-2): $170
  • $215 per hour Contracted (1099): $225
  • $320 per hour
Schedule:
1 to 2 days per week (Day shift / Weekends available/ Monthly schedule available/ highly flexible) Duties Supervision Requirement In accordance with California clinical practice standards and medical board regulations, the candidate must be open to serving as a Supervising Physician . If the candidate is not comfortable with this they MUST be able to see all dermatology patients on their own in a given schedule.
Key requirements include:
Mid-Level Oversight:
Providing supervision and consultation for Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs).
Collaborative Practice:
Ensuring Mid-level providers can see and treat patients under your guidance, following established protocols for dermatological care.
Availability:
Remaining available for consultation and review of complex cases to ensure the highest standard of patient safety and care quality. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough dermatological assessments through detailed patient histories and physical examinations, utilizing medical terminology and diagnostic radiology when necessary. Diagnose and treat a wide range of skin conditions, including inflammatory, infectious, neoplastic, and cosmetic dermatology issues, employing evidence-based practices. Perform dermatological procedures such as biopsies, excisions,Cyst and Lipoma Removal, Skin Tag and Mole Removal and aseptic technique. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems (we use eCW) to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. (Be open to EHR systems training) Educate patients on skin health, preventive care strategies, and treatment options; incorporate health coaching techniques to promote wellness. Collaborate with other specialties such as orthopedics, podiatry, or cardiology when in office. Multiple specialties will be in this clinic space especially if or when complex cases require multidisciplinary management. Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing dermatological care standards within the FQHC setting. Maintain current knowledge of dermatology advancements and ensure all procedures adhere to safety protocols for inpatient and outpatient environments.
Requirements & Qualifications Education:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
Licensure:
Current and valid medical license in the State of California.
Certification:
Board certification in Dermatology.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing physician is preferred.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency with electronic medical records. Experience Proven experience in dermatology practice within hospital or outpatient settings; experience in an FQHC environment is preferred . Strong understanding of medical imaging techniques relevant to dermatological diagnosis. Experience performing dermatological procedures including suturing Familiarity with medical coding (CPT/ICD) for dermatology services to ensure accurate billing practices. Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques essential for procedural safety. Ability to manage diverse patient populations with sensitivity and professionalism while providing comprehensive patient care.
