Trauma Medical Director Established Level II Trauma Program California Trauma Medical Director Thousand Oaks, California Level II Trauma Center We are partnering with a well-established Level II Trauma Center in Southern California seeking a Trauma Medical Director to provide clinical and operational leadership while maintaining an active Trauma and Acute Care Surgery practice. This opportunity offers the ability to lead an established trauma program, drive quality and performance improvement initiatives, and help shape the future growth of the service line while working alongside a collaborative surgical team. Opportunity Highlights Trauma Medical Director role Level II Trauma Center Thousand Oaks, California Established trauma program with strong hospital support Blend of clinical practice and leadership responsibilities Opportunity to influence trauma operations, quality, and program development Clinical Practice Approximately 1,000 trauma activations annually Approximately acute care surgery cases annually Trauma Surgery Acute Care Surgery Surgical Critical Care Trauma ICU management Predominantly blunt trauma population Broad operative and non-operative trauma experience Team & Schedule 5 full-time Trauma/Acute Care Surgeons Additional per diem surgeon support APP support integrated into the service 24-hour shift-based coverage model Approximately 9 shifts per month Dedicated backup coverage structure No traditional clinic plus call schedule Leadership Responsibilities Trauma program oversight Performance Improvement (PI) leadership Trauma quality and patient safety initiatives ACS verification readiness and compliance Collaboration with hospital and physician leadership Strategic planning and program development Physician engagement and mentorship Qualifications Board Certified in General Surgery Trauma/Acute Care Surgery and/or Surgical Critical Care training preferred Eligible for California medical licensure Prior trauma leadership experience preferred Interest in quality improvement and program growth Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation package Medical Director stipend Productivity incentives Relocation assistance Comprehensive benefits package Malpractice coverage Why Thousand Oaks?
