Job Description

A busy, well-established private obstetrics and gynecology group in the Hartford, CT area is seeking a full-time generalist OB/GYN physician to join their collegial, collaborative team. The group consists of ten full-time OB/GYN physicians, six certified nurse midwives, and two APRNs. Seven of the physicians practice full-scope OB/GYN, and the practice maintains a 40/60 OB-to-GYN ratio, averaging approximately 600 deliveries per year. The CNMs take first call and perform the majority of deliveries, creating a truly supportive and sustainable model for physicians. The group operates out of four office locations, with a main office fully equipped with EMR, a procedure room, a moderate complexity lab, and ultrasound technology. Physicians see an average of 20 to 25 patients per day, with 20-minute OB visits and 40-minute new patient appointments. The affiliated hospital features a Level IIB nursery, all specialty services in-house, and two robotic surgery systems. The group performs a strong volume of minimally invasive and robotic GYN surgery, with physicians scrubbing together in a collaborative environment. New physicians will receive dedicated mentorship and ample surgical exposure. The call schedule is lifestyle-friendly at 1:8, averaging three calls per month (and its primarily back up), with a post-call day off and a four-day work week. Most providers stay in-house when on call, though they may go home when census is low and are called in by the CNM as needed. The group is also seeking a full-time laborist to take seven to eight calls per month. The ideal candidate is a team player who is board-certified or board-eligible, comfortable with both obstetrics and gynecology, and interested in a long-term partnership-track position. Compensation includes a competitive salary, a robust benefits package, and strong earning potential.
