Physiatrist MedCap Health Danbury, CT Job Details Part-time 4 hours ago Qualifications Team leadership DEA License Medical License Treatment of musculoskeletal injuries Clinical team leadership Working with individuals with neurological conditions Full Job Description We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Physiatrist (1099) to join our multidisciplinary team at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. The ideal candidate will provide expert medical care focused on restoring function and improving quality of life for patients recovering from complex medical conditions, injuries, and surgeries. Part Time and every 3rd weekend as an
ATTENDING
Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Management Serve as the attending physician for patients admitted to the inpatient rehabilitation unit. Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans in collaboration with physical, occupational, and speech therapists. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to optimize functional recovery. Medical Oversight Manage medical complications related to rehabilitation, including pain, spasticity, and secondary conditions. Coordinate care with consulting specialists, nursing staff, and case managers. Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards. Team Leadership & Collaboration Lead interdisciplinary team meetings to review patient goals and progress. Provide education and guidance to staff regarding rehabilitation principles and best practices. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and outcome reporting. Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Board certification or eligibility in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). Valid state medical license and DEA registration. Strong clinical skills in managing patients with neurological, musculoskeletal, and complex medical conditions. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
