JOB SUMMARY
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist plays a vital role as a diverse and inclusive multi-disciplinary team member, working collaboratively to provide comprehensive mental health services to our clients. The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist will bring their specialized training and experience to contribute to the team's efforts in delivering high-quality psychiatric care to children and adolescents in a culturally responsive manner. This position provides services in multiple programs. This position will also help promote an equitable and inclusive environment where all clients can receive the support they need to thrive.
DUTIES 1.
Staff Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists are responsible to the Medical Director. 2. Staff Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists are responsible for providing: a. Psychiatric evaluation and medical management of children enrolled as clients b. Psychiatric consultation to i. Clinic Staff ii. Clinic Programs iii. Clinic School c. Psychiatric emergency assessment and intervention 3. Staff Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists may serve as Team Leaders on the Case Review Teams at the Clinic at the discretion of the Medical Director.
Educational Requirements:
Staff Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists shall be physicians who are Board Certified or Board-Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and are licensed to practice in the State of Connecticut. Evidence of continuing medical education will be expected as per guidelines of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Recertification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry expected as per the ABPN.
Experience Requirements:
Staff Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists will have demonstrated experience with children, adolescents, and adults in the field of psychiatry. Familiarity with electronic health record, electronic communications and documentation, and general office management software is required.
CREDENTIALING
Staff Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists are credentialed to provide diagnostic and treatment services to children up to 18 years of age and their families.
