Job Description

Locums -
Gastroenterologist Athens, GA Availability Coverage Dates:
7a 12/21/2026 - 7a 12/28/2026 24-hour call coverage No clinic responsibilities Provider added to ongoing locum pool for future shifts Licensure Georgia medical license: Required
DEA & CSR
(GA): Required Certifications Board Certified in
Gastroenterology:
Required
BLS & ACLS
Required Experience Adult inpatient gastroenterology ERCP training preferred (only candidates with prior GI privileges at St. Mary's considered) Must be local Facility & Setting 196-bed acute care hospital Inpatient care only (adult patients; occasional pediatric ER visits)
EMR:
Epic Clinical Scope Cover all inpatient GI patients as handed off by local GI physicians Manage new ED or inpatient GI consults Return patients to local GI physicians after coverage "Bread and Butter" GI procedures; ERCP if trained Shift & On-Call Requirements 24-hour call coverage with rounding Weekend coverage included Allow RecruitWell to set up a phone call with you and the client to discuss more!
