Physician Neighborhood Improvement Project Inc - 3.0 Augusta, GA Job Details Full-time 18 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Qualifications Cardiac arrest emergency response Cardiac arrest protocols BC/BE Basic life support DEA License Medical License Critical care (emergency response procedures) Full Job Description Position Summary The Physician provides comprehensive primary care services to a diverse patient population in accordance with Medical Associates Plus's mission as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This role includes delivering high-quality, compassionate care in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The physician collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to support care coordination, prevention, and education efforts in the community. Responsibilities and Duties Clinical Excellence & Patient Care Conduct physical examinations, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic illnesses for assigned patients. Perform medical procedures, prescribe treatments, and refer patients as appropriate. Ensure proper documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) within 72 hours of the patient encounter. Provide emergency medical care in accordance with
BLS/ACLS
standards. Serve as a front-line provider in disaster/emergency response efforts. Compliance & Quality Care Ensure care delivery aligns with all applicable standards, including HRSA, UDS, HEDIS, PCMH, HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission (if applicable). Participate in quality improvement initiatives and internal audits. Adhere to GFE requirements by providing patients with cost estimates upon request or when applicable. Ensure all eligible patients are screened and informed about the Sliding Fee Discount Program in compliance with federal guidelines. Team Leadership & Support Supervise and guide clinical support staff in delivering patient-centered care. Collaborate with the CMO and administrative leadership in developing protocols, health strategies, and clinical workflows. Participate in peer reviews, committee assignments, and staff training initiatives. Community Engagement Promote health education, preventive care, and wellness within the clinic and broader community. Represent the organization at community events and health initiatives, supporting outreach and population health goals. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and abilities Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills. Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., NextGen). Knowledge of SFS, GFE, PCMH, and federal guidelines impacting FQHCs. (preferred) Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Cultural competence and sensitivity to patient diversity. Education & Experience Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution. Board Certified or Board Eligible in relevant specialty. Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia. Current DEA registration and
BLS/ACLS
certification. Minimum 1 year of experience in family or internal medicine preferred. FQHC, community health, or underserved population experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with GFE, SFS, and value-based care models is a plus. Working Conditions The Physician role requires interaction with diverse individuals Work is primarily conducted in a fast-paced outpatient clinic setting. Occasionally extended hours or weekend shifts may be necessary.
