Pediatric Medical Doctor Quality Care Pediatrics Decatur, GA Job Details Part-time | Full-time | Contract 5 hours ago Qualifications Doctor of Medicine ADHD treatment for children and adolescents Electronic health records (EHR) management Initial assessment (medical evaluation) BC/BE Working with pediatric populations Working with individuals with chronic illnesses Working with children Medical License Child assessment Disease state management Medicaid Full Job Description Job description: Quality Care Pediatrics is seeking a Pediatric Medical Doctor (MD) with over 5 years' experience providing medical care to patients younger than 21 years of age. The ideal candidate must possess extensive clinical expertise in performing well-child visits, sick visits, comprehensive physical exams, diagnosing and treating pediatric illnesses, and managing chronic conditions such as asthma, ADHD, and diabetes. Key duties involve independently diagnosing and managing patient conditions, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, providing preventive care and immunizations, and offering health education and anticipatory guidance to families. Must document all patient visit notes within 48 hours of the patient encounter. Must hold a current Georgia medical license and be board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics.
Key responsibilities Patient assessment:
Conduct complete physical examinations, including well-child checks, school physicals, and sports physicals.
Diagnosis and treatment:
Assess, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses (e.g., cough, fever, infections) and manage chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, ADHD, diabetes).
Prescribing and testing:
Prescribe medications and order/interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, screenings) to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Preventive care:
Provide immunizations, perform developmental assessments, and offer guidance on nutrition, growth, behavioral health, and developmental milestones.
Patient and family education:
Educate patients and families on disease management, preventive care, and follow-up plans.
Collaboration:
Work closely with nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and the broader healthcare team to ensure continuity and high-quality pediatric care.
