Job Description

Internal Medicine opening in GeorgiaFull timeDemorest, GAOverviewJoin a patient-centered healthcare organization dedicated to delivering high-quality, coordinated care across Georgia. As part of a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), you will play a vital role in a team-based model focused on prevention, accessibility, and comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions Obtain and document detailed patient histories using the electronic medical record (EMR) system Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans Perform minor outpatient procedures Educate patients on preventive care, lifestyle changes, and disease management Refer patients to specialists when appropriate Admit and manage patients in local hospitals if needed Care Team & Leadership Supervise and support clinical staff Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated care Provide backup coverage for other clinic sites as needed Assist with staff education and in-service training Participate in organizational committees and quality initiativesCommunity & Organizational Involvement Engage in community health promotion and outreach programs Support initiatives that enhance the organization's presence and reputation Attend medical conferences and professional meetings Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement programsQualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school Completion of internship and residency program Board Eligible or Board Certified Eligible for medical licensure in GeorgiaSkills & Abilities Strong clinical expertise in diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions Knowledge of current medical advancements and best practices Commitment to preventive medicine and patient education Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team-based care environmentPractice Highlights Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model Emphasis on preventive care and population health Collaborative, team-based approach to care delivery Opportunities for leadership, teaching, and community engagementWork Environment Outpatient-focused practice with potential hospital involvement Mission-driven, community-oriented organization Supportive and collaborative clinical cultureWhy This Opportunity Stands Out Strong focus on coordinated, patient-centered care Opportunities for professional growth and leadership Meaningful impact through community health initiatives Supportive environment committed to quality and excellence
