HIM LTC Medical Practice Physician Coder (3474) Hinesville, GA 31313 Apply Overview Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Apply Description
JOB SUMMARY
This position is for a HIM LTC Medical Practice Physician Coder whose responsibility is to code appropriate diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT regulations. Communicates with the provider at Liberty Family Medicine and/or Director of HIM. The position also requires administrative functions necessary which include but are not limited to performing the maintenance and organization of the medical record. Perform receptionist duties, as needed, to maintain department coverage. Route requests to the appropriate personnel for completion. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times while communicating with medical staff, organization staff, patients, visitors, other departments and outside agencies. The position reports to the Director of Health Information Management/Privacy Officer. Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum level of
Education:
Equivalent to completion of four years of high school with a high school diploma required Completion of an anatomy and physiology course required. Completion of a medical terminology and certified coding course required. Certified coder preferred.
Formal Training:
Skills with experience in planning, organizing, implementing, verbal and written communications preferred. Knowledge of and training in medical record assembling and analysis required.
Licensure, Certifications & Registration:
RHIT, CCA, CRIS and two years of college preferred.
Work Experience:
Basic typing, computer skills, and previous work experience in a hospital setting in Health Information Management Medical Records and Coding.
