Job Position Overview:

This locum Emergency Medicine opportunity offers a low-volume, high-autonomy practice environment within a critical access hospital setting. Providers will manage both emergency department patients and inpatient responsibilities, supported by a collaborative clinical team and strong ancillary services.

Critical Access Hospital Emergency Department:

3 treatment rooms

Inpatient Capacity:

20 beds (medical-surgical)

Average ED Volume:

~4 patients per day

Average Inpatient Census:

~4 patients (observation, acute, swing bed)

Patient Population:

All ages

Clinical Responsibilities:

Provide emergency department coverage and patient care. Manage inpatient responsibilities including rounding. Deliver care across observation, acute, and swing bed patients. Collaborate with nursing and support staff in a low-volume setting.

Requirements:

Board Certification:

ABEM or FP/IM with recent Emergency Medicine experience (Required)

Licensure:

Active Iowa license (Required)

Availability:

Must list available dates at time of name clear (Required)

Background:

Clean malpractice and background history (Required)

NPDB:

Self-Query report (within 30 days) required at time of submission.
