Job Description

Hematology Oncology Locums Job in Iowa Monday-Thursday Schedule Beginning ASAP
  • Ongoing Assignment Coverage Details 8:00 AM
  • 4:30 PM, Monday
  • Thursday 16 shifts per month Must be available full-time Call Details One weeknight call and one weekend per month Call is phone-only Very infrequent in-person consults Requirements Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology Will consider Board Certified Oncology providers with strong Hem/Onc experience Active Iowa license or IMLC Fellowship trained in Hematology & Oncology Experienced providers preferred, but open to new grads Clean malpractice/background required Assignment Details Patient volume: 16-20 per day Outpatient clinic with occasional inpatient consults Hospitalists admit all patients.
Physicians typically field phone calls from hospitalists Adult patient population (18+) 2 APPs in practice (no supervision required)
Nursing Support Ratio:
2 nurses /1 provider along with referral and triage nurses Ancillary Staff per provider: Reception, lab, social worker, referrals, dietician Services include chemotherapy, infusions, bone marrow biopsies, and specialty treatments Minimal inpatient census (0-2 patients on average) Teaching opportunities available
