Job Description:
Description The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Sections of Transplant and Thoracic Surgery, is seeking full-time Clinical Associates at 100% effort for renewable terms of up to three years. Appointees will assist with various clinical responsibilities within the lung transplant programs. They will be responsible for lung organ procurement, assisting in the operating room during lung transplants and related surgical procedures, and providing patient care across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings. These positions do not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications. This position is benefits-eligible. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be board-certified or board-eligible by The American Board of Thoracic Surgery or the foreign equivalent, and 4) have completed a lung transplant fellowship or equivalent training. We especially welcome applicants with experience in thoracic surgery and lung transplantation with successful completion of a lung transplant fellowship.
