Job Description

Job ID:
N/A We're looking for a locum tenens Emergency Medicine physician to join a busy hospital ED in Crown Point, Indiana. This role begins 09/24/2026 and is ongoing, with flexible scheduling that includes a mix of days, nights, and weekends to meet departmental needs. You'll be seeing adults and pediatric patients in an ED that manages roughly 33,000 visits annually, with a moderate-to-high acuity case mix and an admission population. The department provides strong on-site support: APP coverage (NP/PA) for about 18 hours each day and physician coverage across the day, plus reliable specialty backup when needed. This is supplemental clinical coverage only; rounding and phone consults are not part of the assignment. Clinical expectations include emergency stabilization and resuscitation, moderate sedation, and other standard emergency procedures. You'll work in a team-based model alongside APPs and specialty consultants, delivering efficient, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
Required credentials:
an active, unrestricted Indiana medical license, Indiana CSR, and an active DEA with an Indiana address that includes schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, and 4. Candidates must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABMS or AOA) and have completed an EM residency. Certification expectations differ slightly by status: Board Eligible applicants must have ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS; Board Certified applicants must have ACLS, BLS, PALS, and documentation of ATLS at least once. You'll also need to provide case logs for the past two years, complete a CME attestation during the application, and submit current Flu, TB, and COVID immunization records. The facility requires hospital privileges. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance will be covered; the hourly or daily rate will be determined. If you thrive in a busy ED setting and meet the credential requirements, this position offers flexible scheduling and strong team support in Crown Point.
