Job Description
Orthopaedic Associates Surgery Center is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our team working in a high volume, orthopaedic only, ambulatory surgery center. This is an outpatient only facility, with hours worked Monday-Friday. This is a PRN position which would require working at least one (8) hour shift every 4 months. The Radiologic Technologist will assist with total care for the patient. The Radiologic Technologist will obtain x-ray imaging studies in the operating room and post-anesthesia care unit. The Radiologic Technologist will make sure the patient is comfortable and answer any questions they may have under the guidance of the physician. They will also help within the operating room and turn over between surgeries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Effectively perform C-Arm exams in an OR setting and operate portable equipment for post-op imaging per provider's protocol or request. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality images while prioritizing radiation safety and minimizing radiation exposure to the patient and staff. Possess knowledge and understanding of sterile technique. Ensure that equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and stored after each procedure Enter orders, send images & dose reports to PACS, properly document in EMR. Verify physician surgery schedules and confirm correct images have been delivered or are available prior to the procedure(s). Communicate effectively with fellow staff and Team Leaders Maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with company policies and procedures.QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associates or Bachelor's degree and current radiology certification and state license through the ARRT required, experience in a medical office preferred. You must maintain minimum requirements for licensure. Expertise with the computer software applications Excel and Word Capability to multitask in a fast paced environment Positive and pleasant attitude and willingness to help patients and physicians Strong in anatomy Factors determining actual salary may include skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
