The hospital requires a 30-45 day credentialing process and provides full orthopedic services including operating room and clinic facilities. The state offers horse-related experiences through thoroughbred farm tours in the Bluegrass region and racing heritage at Churchill Downs. Visitors can explore various caverns and caves throughout the area, with additional options for river cruises and walking tours available in multiple locations. About the Clinician's Workday The orthopedic surgeon will provide comprehensive 24-hour call coverage for inpatient and emergency room consultations at this Level 3 trauma center. The clinician will conduct clinic appointments Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with one clinic day dedicated to operating room coverage. Essential responsibilities include performing core orthopedic surgical procedures including joint replacements for hips, knees, and shoulders, as well as hand and foot fracture repairs. The position requires managing 1-3 calls per 24-hour period with potential weekend call coverage and approximately one hour of daily rounding.
