Job Description

ATC West Healthcare is seeking a full-time Neonatologist to join a high-acuity Level
III NICU
team in Alexandria, Louisiana. This role offers a structured 7-on/7-off schedule with a home call model, providing both clinical care and collaboration within a multidisciplinary neonatal team. The position focuses on delivering advanced neonatal care in a busy regional referral center with strong support from neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners.
Dates / Schedule
Full-time, permanent position 7-on / 7-off schedule Home call coverage after daily rounds Requires local residency in the Alexandria, LA area (relocation may be required) Not open to locum tenens candidates Not accepting visa candidates (J1/H1B not supported) Job Details / Responsibilities Provide comprehensive care in a 34-bed Level
III NICU
Manage a high-acuity and complex neonatal patient population Conduct daily NICU rounds and develop patient care plans Collaborate within a team of 2 Neonatologists and 4 Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs) Oversee and support 24/7 in-house NNP coverage Participate in home call after completing daily clinical duties Perform newborn nursery rounds as part of routine responsibilities Support care for approximately 1,500 2,000 annual deliveries Work alongside an NNP-led neonatal transport team for external transfers Follow evidence-based protocols and participate in quality improvement initiatives Contribute to clinical excellence and advancement of neonatal care practices Engage in a collaborative, multidisciplinary hospital environment Required Skills & Qualifications Board Certified in Pediatrics (required) Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatology (required) Louisiana medical license or willingness to obtain (required) Neonatology clinical experience (required) Clean malpractice and licensing history (highly preferred) Must disclose visa status (J1/H1B not accepted) NPDB Self-Query Report within 30 days (required at submission) DEA registration prior to start date (required) Must meet facility-specific credentialing requirements
