Job Description

Position Summary The Physician is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients in a fast-paced urgent care and walk-in clinic setting. The Physician will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and non-emergent medical conditions while coordinating care with primary care physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals as needed. The Physician will focus on delivering high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered outpatient care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide comprehensive medical care to patients presenting to the walk-in clinic. Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses, minor injuries, and common medical conditions. Perform office-based and urgent care procedures within scope of practice, including wound care, laceration repair, splinting, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal. Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate levels of care, including referral to emergency departments, specialists, or primary care providers when necessary. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated. Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and follow-up recommendations. Accurately document patient encounters, treatment plans, procedures, and clinical outcomes in the electronic health record. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, medical staff activities, and continuing medical education programs to maintain and enhance clinical knowledge and skills. Comply with all applicable clinic policies, accreditation standards, and federal and state regulations. Strong clinical skills in the diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses, injuries, and common medical conditions. Ability to effectively coordinate care among multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interpret diagnostic studies and develop evidence-based treatment plans. Experience performing common urgent care and office-based procedures. Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment. Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate, and patient-centered care. Proficiency in electronic health record systems and clinical documentation. Requirements Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine. Possess or be eligible to obtain an unrestricted Louisiana medical license. Current DEA registration and authority to prescribe controlled substances. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
Pay:
$90.00 - $105.00 per hour
