Job Description

Si2 HEALTHCARE is currently seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Physicians in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine to provide Hospitalist/Medical Officer of the Day (MOD) coverage at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, Michigan . This is an excellent opportunity for experienced physicians who are passionate about serving our nation's Veterans while working in a collaborative federal healthcare environment.

Monday-Thursday:
6:00 PM•7:00 AM Friday 6:00 PM•Monday 7:00 AM (Weekend Coverage) Federal Holiday Coverage Required Contract Position Long-Term Government OpportunityResponsibilities The MOD Physician will provide comprehensive inpatient and urgent care coverage during off-tour hours and will be responsible for: Evaluating and treating Veterans presenting for urgent or emergent care Managing inpatient admissions, discharges, and transfers Responding to medical emergencies, rapid responses, and code situations Completing History & Physicals, discharge summaries, and medication reconciliation Collaborating with nursing staff, psychiatry services, and interdisciplinary teams Documenting patient care accurately within the VA electronic medical record system Providing consultation and clinical decision-making support during overnight and weekend operations Participating in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives Minimum Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. State or Territory Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association DEA registration Inpatient and outpatient clinical experience required Ability to pass VA credentialing and background requirements Preferred Qualifications Previous VA or federal healthcare experience Experience in hospital medicine, urgent care, or emergency response settings Familiarity with Cerner or VA electronic health record systems Why Join Si2 HEALTHCARE?
