Job Description
At Riverwood Center we have a team of caring and committed professionals providing a wide array of personalized services to individuals with behavioral health, intellectual & developmental disabilities and substance use disorders. Riverwood Center is located in beautiful Southwest Michigan with staff at seven sites across Berrien County. We are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and a member of Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health, Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Boards, and the National Council for Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for diagnosing and treating individuals with mental health and substance use disorders and intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Conducts assessments, develops treatment plan utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications
- Provides education on medication, wellness and health issues to consumers, providers, family members and staff
- Conducts assessments, develops treatment plans utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications
- Applies culturally competent recovery-based practices, trauma informed culture of safety to aid individuals in their recovery process and person-centered planning as a shared decision-making process
Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree from an accredited medical program and residency in psychiatry.
- Licensed by the Michigan Department of Commerce or Professional Regulation as a physician and is board certified in child psychiatry or board eligible within three years
- One or more years' experience working with children/adolescents with mental illness, substance use, intellectual or developmental disabilities
