Job Description

The Mayo Clinic Health System Department of Hematology-Oncology (MCHS Heme Onc) is seeking a Medical Oncologist-Hematologist to join our practice in Albert Lea, MN. The comprehensive, high-tech, and newly expanded Cancer Center in Albert Lea is structured to maximize benefit to both the patient and provider. Join a team of two physicians (including this opportunity), one Advanced Practice Provider, and two Radiation Oncologists. On-site chemotherapy and radiation oncology services are provided as well as support services by a dedicated team in the Cancer Center. Team members include oncology certified nursing staff, an R.N. navigator, oncology social worker, and an Oncology Clinical Pharmacist. Additional opportunities for collaboration with Medical Oncology and Hematology in Rochester include access to Rochester e-tumor boards and educational lecture series. The practice includes a mix of medical oncology and hematology with access to on-site clinical trials. The collaborative relationship between the MCHS Heme Onc and Mayo Clinic Rochester Department of Oncology and Division of Hematology creates opportunities for partnerships in practice, research and teaching.
Schedule details:
Monday through Friday clinics (4 ½ work days) and Doctor of the Day (Virtual availability) every 3-4 weeks. Outreach to another Minnesota site one day per week is expected. Candidates must be board-certified/board-eligible in Oncology and are preferred to be board-certified/board-eligible in Hematology. Eligibility for Minnesota state medical license is required.
