Job Description
AMI Expeditionary Healthcare LLC (AMI) is seeking dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Physicians (PCP) to provide comprehensive outpatient care to Veterans within VA Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Hibbing, MN and Superior, WI. The physicians will play a key role in delivering patient-centered care, managing acute and chronic conditions, promoting preventive health, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity and quality of care. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services for adult patients in a VA clinic setting Conduct patient evaluations, medical histories, physical examinations, diagnoses, treatment planning, and follow-up care Manage acute illnesses, chronic diseases, preventive care, and general medical conditions Order, interpret, and manage laboratory studies, diagnostic testing, imaging, and clinical evaluations Coordinate care with specialists, ancillary staff, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the VA electronic medical record system (CPRS/EHR) Educate and counsel patients regarding treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and health maintenance Discuss advanced care planning and end-of-life preferences as appropriate Ensure continuity of care through referrals, consultations, and follow-up services Maintain compliance with VA, HIPAA, Joint Commission, and organizational policies and procedures Participate in quality assurance, patient safety initiatives, and required VA training programs Job duties are flexible and may change based on operational needs. Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Active, unrestricted medical license in state of assignment (WI/MN) Active DEA registration Current BLS and ACLS certification Strong clinical competency in outpatient primary care/general medicine Required Skills & Abilities Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment Excellent time management and attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications Ability to successfully complete the AMI credentialing process Physical & Additional Requirements Ability to safely perform job duties while following all workplace safety standards Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time Frequent pushing, pulling, reaching, and bending Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Inclusion & Cultural Competency Utilize appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic, sexual orientations, lifestyles, and physical abilities.
