Psychiatrist | The Aviary Recovery Center | Eolia, Missouri About the
Job:
PURPOSE STATEMENT
The Psychiatrist is responsible for the medical and psychiatric aspects of admitting and treating clients. Responsible for the initial and continued assessment of clients and for their treatment ensuring the existence of an up-to-date treatment plan appropriate to the client's psychiatric and medical condition and psychosocial background and making sure that treatment proceeds in an effective manner in accordance with the treatment plan. This position is onsite at the facility but may include some telehealth work to be determined by mutual agreement with the CEO.
Roles and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides clinical services to clients at the facility within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures. Reviews medical information on clients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations. Evaluates clients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Treats or direct treatment of clients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications. Reviews and completes medical information for individual care plans, documents services, and information in a timely manner. Direct services and information in a timely manner, maintaining appropriate confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures. Performs a variety of professional assignments such as involvement in the admission of clients to the facility, covering for professional staff during vacation or, in the absence of the regularly assigned psychiatrist, appearing in court in connection with the involuntary commitment of a client. Provides information, documentation, and personal insights about our clients' progress to clinicians and other treatment professionals. On call rotation.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) supplemented by the completion of psychiatric residency training required. One or more years' post graduate degree practice preferred.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS
Current license to practice medicine, by the state in which the facility(s) operates. Board certification or certificate of admissibility for board certification in psychiatry. Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working. Additional specific DEA credentials may be required, per state and facility regulations or policy. CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
