Locum Optometrist needed near Havre, MT Indian Health Facility - Will Accept

Credentialing:

2-3 weeks

LOA:

3 months with possibility to extend

Schedule:

Monday through Friday from 8-5 PM No overtime unless prior approved for patient care only (no overtime for documentation) providers need to complete charting same day or with patient to ensure provider is not getting behind with charting

Patient Volume:

Avg 15

Procedures:

Slit lamp exams, tonometry, retinal imaging Use of standard optometric diagnostic and treatment equipment Contact lens fittings, orthoptics, visual skills training Minor surgical procedures (if within scope and credentialed)

EMR:

RPMS License:

MT preferred, but

Certifications:

Doctor of Optometry (O.D.)

Relevant Experience/Skill Needed:

C omfortable working alone; provider will have no support staff Day-to-Day Responsibilities Conduct routine eye exams and manage ocular diseases (glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, etc.) Provide emergency eye care (e.g., foreign body removal, ocular trauma) Fit and prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses, including specialty lenses Diagnose and treat refractive errors, strabismus, and binocular vision issues Use of advanced instrumentation and techniques as needed Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, an preventive care Ensure adherence to documentation timelines (all documentation due within 72 hours of service) Other additional information: Indian or Rural Health experience May include school-based vision screening visits for local K 12 schools (Rocky Boy and Box Elder)
