Required Skills:
Board Certification in General Surgery Active North Carolina Medical License and NC DEA certification Clean background with no recent or open malpractice or disciplinary issues Proven experience with Hernia repair, Cholecystectomy, Breast Surgery, Lumps and Bumps, Abscess Drainage, Endoscopy (EGD and colonoscopy), Appendectomy, Small Bowel and Colon Surgery Ability to handle 24-hour call shifts effectively Strong communication and teamwork skills Malpractice insurance coverage (must be included in daily rate) Enrolled with PECOS, Medicare, and Medicaid as a provider Nice to
Have Skills:
Prior experience working in similar hospital settings Familiarity with Meditech 6.1 EMR system Military service background or prior moonlighting experience with employer approval Availability for a flexible schedule totaling 4 hours of free time daily, with options for bulked hours
Preferred Education and Experience:
Medical degree from an accredited institution Minimum of 3 years of post-residency surgical experience Prior credentialing with agency or hospital networks preferred
Other Requirements:
Must be within 20 minutes of the facility for on-call duties Willingness to work 24-hour call shifts scheduled for specific dates in July 2026 Provider must be fully credentialed with Medicare and Medicaid, including PECOS enrollment Travel expenses will be capped at $500; local accommodation provided in hospital-owned apartments with amenities such as Wi-Fi and cable Must include malpractice and disciplinary information in application for consideration Communication via email is preferred for application correspondence Take this opportunity to be an integral part of a committed team delivering essential surgical care.
