UNC Rural Obstetrics & Gynecology Fellowship Join the Nation's First Rural OB/GYN Fellowship - Make a Real Impact in Underserved Communities About the Program The UNC School of Medicine proudly announces a two-year UNC Rural Obstetrics & Gynecology Fellowship, the first of its kind in the nation, training physician leaders to deliver exceptional women's healthcare in rural maternal health. Fellowship Highlights 50%
Clinical Practice:
Provide comprehensive, full-scope OB/GYN practice under the guidance of skilled clinical partners at a single fellowship site at UNC Health Rockingham in Eden or UNC Health Lenoir in Kinston 50%
Training & Mentorship:
Fellows will have an identified primary mentor to help chart a roadmap for their 2 years of career development. Options can include completing a Master-level degree (e.g. MSCR) or tailored coursework in QI/QA, community engagement, leadership, healthcare finances, equity, etc. They will have the ability to join state-wide initiatives to improve maternal health, receive research training to study rural health outcomes, or lead QI/QA projects directly informed by their clinical practice. UNC Health Rockingham Fellowship Site Highlights UNC Women's Health at Eden has served the women of Rockingham County, NC, and beyond for over 25 years. Our practice offers a 50/50 mix of OB and GYN, joining two OBGYNs, two NPs and exceptional clinical staff. UNC Health Rockingham's Birthing Center has been recognized as "High Performing" for maternity care by U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals for Maternity Care. Located in the Piedmont Triad region of central North Carolina, Eden offers small town charm, low cost of living, and big-time outdoor adventure along our rivers and trails. Greensboro, NC's third largest city, with many colleges/universities, nightlife, and fine dining is 25 miles south. Eden is 90 minutes from the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, two hours to Raleigh and Charlotte, and four hours to the coast. Eligibility
