Back General Cardiology- Lead APP CaroMont Health Gastonia, NC May 20, 2026 Full Time Physician & Surgeon Job Description CaroMont Medical Group Cardiology Lead APP CaroMont Medical Group, an affiliate of CaroMont Health, is offering a Full-Time opportunity for an experienced Advanced Practice Provider. This is an employed position with our Cardiovascular Service Line in Gaston County, North Carolina. The APP lead will be a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant with proven leadership skills and excellent clinical acumen who will work closely with the Cardiovascular leadership team to further the goals of the organization. Will report directly to the Medical Director. Positively impact the overall culture of the clinic through an exemplary work ethic and embracing our CARES values.

Operational and leadership responsibilities:

Lead APP team operations for cardiology service across inpatient and outpatient settings Primary decision-maker in recruitment and hiring of new APPs Implement onboarding, mentoring and competency training programs for newly hired APPs Create and maintain APP staffing schedules for clinic and hospital coverage (days, nights, weekends, holidays) Manage PTO requests, coverage coordination, and staffing adjustments during vacancies or call-outs Program development and liaison role: Serve as liaison between cardiologists and APPs Represent APP group in meetings with hospital and service line leadership Advocate for practice improvements, staffing efficiency, and provider well-being Support service line growth and provider retention through mentorship and workflow optimization Assists in the hands-on implementation of new processes, workflows and standard CaroMont Health is an independent not-for-profit healthcare system with multiple affiliates, including a 476-bed main campus hospital, brand new satellite hospital in Belmont, NC, and a large primary care and specialty physician network (CaroMont Medical Group).
