Job Description

Under limited supervision, executes priority physician outreach and relationship development activities with a focus on primary care physicians and oncology referral sources. Leads non-affiliated PCP outreach across the GBMC service area, cultivates new referral relationships with independent and loosely affiliated practices, and develops oncology and medical specialty referral pipelines in support of GBMC's strategic growth initiatives.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, healthcare administration, or related field.
Experience:
3+ years of healthcare sales, pharmaceutical sales, or physician relations experience with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales/outreach targets.
Skills:
Demonstrated skill in consultative sales and relationship-building with physicians, practice managers, and office staff. Ability to develop and manage a physician territory with emphasis on independent and non-affiliated practices. Skill in navigating complex referral pathways, particularly in oncology and multi-specialty environments. Proficiency with CRM systems and data-driven reporting tools. Ability to develop networks within the community and gather competitive intelligence as part of the outreach process.
Licensure, Certifications:
Valid driver's license required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Executes priority physician contacts and relationship development inclusive of face-to-face visits specifically targeted at expanding GBMC's primary care and oncology referral volume. Leads non-affiliated PCP outreach strategy, managing a territory of independent and loosely affiliated primary care practices across Baltimore County and surrounding areas. Obtains, interprets, and analyzes referral data on physician utilization of GBMC services and services of competing organizations; communicates findings to the Chief Marketing Officer as appropriate. Executes specialty-specific outreach for Oncology and medical specialties in coordination with department leadership and GBMC Health Partners. Serves as the primary point of contact between community PCPs and GBMC specialists; coordinates resolution of access and scheduling issues. Gathers and communicates competitive intelligence on referral patterns and market activity to inform program strategy. Executes the standardized PCP Orientation Program for every newly hired GBMC primary care physician, ensuring introductions to key specialists and referral pathway education within the first two weeks. Coordinates at least five specialist introductions per new PCP within the first 30 days, facilitating in-person or virtual meet-and-greet sessions. Supports deployment of the 90-Day New Specialist Playbook for oncology and medical specialty hires. Coordinates "meet the specialist" events and CME opportunities targeting community PCPs and referring specialists. Maintains accurate, current records of all physician contacts, visit notes, referral sentiment, and required follow-up actions in the CRM system within 48 hours of each visit. Monitors referral trends among non-affiliated and independent practices; identifies leakage and develops targeted recovery strategies. Prepares weekly activity reports summarizing visits completed, issues identified, and upcoming priorities. Contributes to monthly and quarterly dashboard reporting supporting program accountability reviews with senior leadership. Represents GBMC at community health screenings, educational seminars, oncology-focused CME programs, and professional networking events. Coordinates physician participation in community events, including engaging target PCP offices as co-sponsors of health screenings and wellness programs. Supports development of outreach materials, physician profile cards, and leave-behind collateral for primary care and oncology audiences. Supports the Concierge PCP Program pilot (Phase 3) by identifying and engaging concierge medicine practices in the service area.
