The successful candidates will join a well-established medical practice comprised of leading divisions in residency education, medical student education, sports medicine, geriatrics, and research. These positions support an innovative primary care initiative: the ECU Health Primary Care Learning Center — a new full-spectrum teaching clinic located in a high‑need community designed to address primary care access gaps, reduce low-acuity ED utilization, and expand clinical training opportunities.

Clinical Responsibilities:

Provide full-spectrum outpatient primary care for patients of all ages. Supervise 3rd and 4th year medical students, PA, NP, nursing, and allied health learners. Participate in daily teaching rounds, case reviews, clinic huddles, and end-of-day feedback.

Educational Responsibilities:

Teach, mentor, advise, and evaluate learners across disciplines. Lead teaching sessions aligned with the recurring curriculum. Model patient-centered communication and team-based care.

Scholarly & Service Expectations:

Participate in scholarship, QI, and educational innovation. Collaborate with interprofessional and community partners. The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center (formerly Vidant Medical Center). ECU Health Medical Center is the flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Minimum Education/Experience MD or DO from an appropriately accredited institution required and conferred by the time of hire, or completed foreign medical education accepted and recognized for ECFMG Certification. License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation NC medical license. Board eligible or board certified in Family Medicine Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Passion for primary care and community health. Strong clinical skills and experience teaching. Interest in primary care transformation.
