JOB SUMMARY:
Specializes in performing minimally invasive, image‑guided procedures to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Perform interventional radiology procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. 2. Interpret diagnostic imaging to guide treatment decisions. 3. Evaluate patients pre‑procedure and provide post‑procedure care. 4. Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing them with clear and concise information about their care and procedures. 5. Work closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and support staff. 6. Stay up to date on the latest developments and advancements in interventional radiology. 7. Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly maintained and in good working condition. 8. Maintains and updates patient care records. 9. Provides consultation services to other physicians in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws. 10. Maintains strictest patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA regulations. 11. Performs other duties as assigned or required to include call coverage and community care and education. 12. Adheres to CarolinaEast Health System's "Standards of Excellence" and participates in "Here to Serve" training to support our culture of excellence. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Assumes additional responsibilities as necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Active Physician's License from the State of North Carolina and certifications from the DEA are required. 2. Additional fellowship training in Interventional Radiology. 3. Board certification in Radiology. 4. Specialty training in Interventional Radiology. 5. Must be in good standing with the Medical Staff of CarolinaEast Health Systems.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS 1.
Knowledge of adult medical disorders and treatments. 2. Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations and requirements. 3. Skill in analyzing clinical test and examination results. 4. Skill in operating medical equipment. 5. Skill in oral and written communication. 6. Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands. 7. Ability to communicate and work well with patients and staff. 8. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. 9. Requires exposure to communicable disease and bodily fluids. 10. Requires working under stress in emergency situations or during irregular hours.
