Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking a licensed Physician to provide on-site medical services for the Pine Ridge Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center (JCCC). In this role, you will be the primary medical authority on center, responsible for the early identification, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions for a population of 100 to 300 students. You will work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to help students overcome medical barriers to employability.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Care:
Provide on-site medical services, including physical examinations (intake), diagnosis, and treatment of acute and episodic illnesses (e.g., respiratory infections, flu).Chronic Disease Management:
Develop and manage medical treatment plans for students with chronic conditions or disabilities.Prescriptions:
Issue prescriptions for controlled (including Schedule II) and non-controlled medications.Preventative Health:
Oversee immunizations, screenings, and laboratory tests in accordance with Job Corps Basic Health Care Responsibilities.Staff Supervision:
Provide direct supervision to Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to ensure compliance with Nebraska state regulations.Administrative Leadership:
Record all medical documentation in the Student Health Record (SHR) in a timely manner and participate in Disability Accommodation Committee (DAC) meetings.Collaboration:
Coordinate with the Health and Wellness Director and other center departments (Residential, Education, Vocation) to develop integrated health promotion services.Qualifications & Requirements Licensure:
Must possess an active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Nebraska.Expertise:
Ability to work effectively with financially disadvantaged youth and young adults.Compliance:
Must adhere to the Job Corps Policy and Requirements Handbook (PRH), HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable federal and state laws.Insurance:
Must maintain personal malpractice/professional liability insurance and general liability insurance.Screening:
Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug testing is required.Schedule & Environment Work Hours:
Typically one (1) or two (2) days per week, Monday-Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.Facility:
Services are performed on-site at the Pine Ridge Center. Adequate workspace, examination rooms, equipment, and PPE are provided by the government.Holidays:
Personnel are not scheduled to work on federal holidays.Pay:
