Job Description

This position is under the direction of the Director of Operating Room Services. Manages the department of Perfusion Services and ensures that all staff completes duties as assigned and follows the policies and procedures of the department and hospital. This position will also manage the Anesthesia support staff, collaboratively, under the direction of the Department of Anesthesia Chair. Responsible under the direction of the primary surgeon, cardiologist, and other responsible physician, to set up and operate such devices as the heart lung machine for cardiopulmonary bypass procedures, ECMO, ventricular assists, intra-aortic balloon pumps, autologous blood transfusions, and provide standby support for the heart catheterization laboratory as needed.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs. Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in Perfusion Services. Minimum of 1 year experience in Perfusion Services Management. Graduate from a CAHEA accredited perfusion training program. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Bachelor degree in Perfusion Technology or other related science or its equivalent. Prior leadership experience in a clinical environment.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
Certified in Cardiovascular Perfusion. Perfusionist License. BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
