Psychiatrist Locum Tenens Location:
Somerville, NJ Start Date:

Schedule:
Monday Friday Day Shift:
8:00 AM 5:00
PM Night Call:
None (Nocturnist program covers 5:00 PM 8:00 AM)
Setting:
Primarily Consultation Liaison Role General Adult Inpatient Psychiatry Unit (5W) 27-bed unit split between two providers
Daily Census:
patients per provider
Night Admissions:
Handled by nocturnist service
ICU Patients:
Consult coverage to medical hospital as needed
APP Coverage:
Yes APP on eating disorder unit (locums provider responsible for supervision)
Procedures:
Required:
Inpatient psychiatric evaluations Medication management Discharge planning Consult liaison coverage Management of complex psychiatric conditions
Specialty Support Available:
Second attending psychiatrist on 5W APN and fellow on 1W (20-bed unit) Multidisciplinary treatment team
EMR:
EPIC Requirements:
Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Psychiatry Active New Jersey license Comfortable with consultation liaison psychiatry Experience in adult inpatient psychiatry Ability to supervise
APPs Weekend Coverage:
1 weekend per month (Saturday & Sunday)
Hours:
8:00 AM 5:00 PM In-person work typically completed by 2:00 PM Phone availability until 5:00 PM Includes inpatient rounding and crisis unit coverage
Practice Model:
Team-based model Shared patient load with second MD APP supervision on specialty unit
