Job Description

Principal Accountabilities:
1. Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools. 2. Documents appropriate correspondence, assessments, and care in patient's electronic medical records (EMR). 3. Assists with scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards. 4. Monitors environment for compliance with continual accreditation readiness and evaluates practice schedule for changes or updates. 5. Demonstrates knowledge of the certified medical assistant scope of practice, incorporating elements of holistic patient-centered and team-based care. 6. Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time. 7. Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment and provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the plan of care. 8. Implements process improvement techniques where necessary and ensures compliance with protocols and regulatory requirements. 9. Provides day-to-day direction, guidance, and mentorship to medical assistants, serves as clinical lead in the absence of the supervisor/manager and provides performance feedback/documentation. 10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. 5+ years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or relevant area, including demonstrated leadership, mentorship, or lead-level responsibilities 3. National Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program. 4. National Certified Medical Assistant designation. 5. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and re-certification every two years.
Preferred:
1. Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field. 2. Experience with patient Electronic Medical Records (EMR). 3. Experience with EPIC. 4. Strong communication and collaboration skills 5. Experience in a specialty practice or high-volume outpatient setting
