  • Occupational Health Clinic An exciting opportunity to lead a large, well-established occupational medical clinic serving police, fire, and over 9,000 city employees in Albuquerque—the largest city in New Mexico.
The clinic provides workers' compensation care, fitness-for-duty and medical surveillance exams, and select wellness services. This position may also include certification as a Medical Review Officer and AMA Impairment Rater. Primary Responsibilities Provide high-quality medical care in compliance with ethical, regulatory, and safety standards (HIPAA, CLIA, OSHA, etc.). Perform and interpret clinical services such as orthopedic evaluations, X-rays, EKGs, wound care, audiograms, and pulmonary function tests. Ensure accurate documentation, coding, and billing. Communicate effectively with administrative and clinical staff to maintain smooth operations and exceptional patient care. Participate in administrative meetings, policy input, and staff education. Foster a positive, team-oriented environment and model professionalism, punctuality, and excellent customer service.
Qualifications Education:
MD or DO from an accredited program.
Experience:
5+ years (Medical Director) or 2+ years (Clinician) in patient care.
Preferred background:
emergency, orthopedic, occupational, or aerospace medicine. Medical Director candidates should have experience in chronic pain management.
Licenses/Certifications:
New Mexico Medical License, Board of Pharmacy License, DEA, and BLS. Ability to obtain malpractice insurance and maintain CME requirements. (Preferred/Required Post-Hire)
DOT/FMCSA
Medical Examiner, Medical Review Officer, AMA Impairment Rater certification. Additional Requirements Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs during patient transfers. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills. Professional, flexible, and compassionate approach to patient care. Basic medical Spanish preferred.
