Compensation:
Highly Competitive DOE Reliable Health Care Services is seeking a Physician to support medical services at Northern Nevada Correctional Center (NNCC ) in Carson City, Nevada. This position provides comprehensive medical care to an adult correctional population in collaboration with nursing staff, mental health professionals, custody staff, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The Physician will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic medical conditions while ensuring appropriate documentation, continuity of care, and compliance with facility policies, correctional healthcare standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct medical evaluations, assessments, and physical examinations for patients within the correctional setting Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, chronic medical conditions, and minor injuries Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and other medical evaluations Prescribe medications and monitor treatment effectiveness, side effects, and patient response to therapy Respond to urgent and emergent medical situations and provide appropriate medical intervention Collaborate with nursing staff, mental health professionals, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation in accordance with facility standards and regulatory requirements Provide patient education regarding medical conditions, medications, treatment plans, and preventive care Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and clinical meetings as assigned Ensure compliance with applicable correctional healthcare standards, infection control practices, and patient confidentiality requirements Work professionally and effectively within a secure correctional environment
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution Current unrestricted Nevada license in good standing Current Nevada Board of Pharmacy license in good standing DEA registration required Board Certified or Board Eligible preferred Previous correctional, emergency medicine, internal medicine, family practice, urgent care, or community health experience preferred Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and documentation skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
