Thoracic Surgeon for Integrated Academic Health System in Reno/Tahoe Renown Health 401(k) United States, Nevada, Reno 10315 Professional Circle (Show on map) May 08, 2026 Renown Health and University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) are recruiting a Board Eligible/Board Certified Thoracic Surgeon to partner in growing the Thoracic Surgery program within the Renown Medical Group division of Surgical Oncology under the Department of Surgery. Under the direction of the Chair of Surgery, the Thoracic Surgeon is expected to be an expert in medical and surgical care for patients diagnosed with benign and oncologic thoracic diseases. The Surgeon will diagnose, treat, and manage malignant and benign Thoracic surgical diseases for patients. Expectation to collaborate with and supervise mid-level providers and can expect to have some involvement with public health education, administration, teaching, and research. The ideal candidate will be a board-certified Thoracic Surgeon with a minimum of 2 years' experience and have Completed an accredited general surgery residency and a Thoracic surgery fellowship. Incumbents must possess a strong work ethic with a focus on quality. Collegiality is mandatory. This position is non-cardiac, purely thoracic surgery. The candidate is expected to qualify for an academic appointment with the University of Nevada Reno (UNR) medical School, build and promote a clinical trial portfolio, contribute to the growth of the William N. Pennington Cancer Institute, contribute to the Division of Surgical Oncology, and participate in the educational goals of medical students and residents.
