Overview:
St. Mary's Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Pulmonologist/Critical Care Physician to join our growing, hospital-based practice in Amsterdam, NY. We proudly opened our state-of-the-art Pulmonology, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine Center in 2024, enhancing our ability to provide comprehensive respiratory and sleep disorder care to our community. State-of-the-Art Facilities- Our brand-new center features an 8-bed ICU, sleep labs, and advanced diagnostic technology. Minimal call schedule
- 1:4 call rotation with nocturnist coverage in the ICU overnight. Open ICU model
- Covered by skilled hospitalists during the day for added support. Advanced pulmonary procedures
- Access to endobronchial ultrasound, bronchoscopy, and other state-of-the-art technologies. Large referral base
- Ability to grow outpatient practice on day one!
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and treat a wide range of pulmonary conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease, and lung cancer. Provide high-quality care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), utilizing evidence-based protocols and advanced monitoring techniques. Collaborate with our Sleep Medicine team to assess and manage sleep disorders, such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, and circadian rhythm disorders. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, and pulmonary function testing. Work closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including respiratory therapists, sleep technologists, and primary care providers, to develop individualized treatment plans. Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment options, and preventive care strategies to promote optimal health outcomes. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest advancements in pulmonary and critical care medicine.Qualifications:
Required Credentials- Board Certified/Board Eligible Physician licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of New York Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in pulmonary and critical care settings is preferred but not required. Education
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary Range- $361,078
- $523,906 (commensurate with experience).
