This pivotal role involves managing a team of radiologic technologists and ensuring the delivery of high-quality imaging services across various modalities, including X-ray, CT, PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, sonography, and nuclear medicine procedures. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of medical imaging techniques, anatomy, physiology, and emergency radiology protocols within a fast-paced healthcare environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care excellence through effective supervision, compliance with safety standards, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Supervise daily operations of the radiology department, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety regulations. Coordinate scheduling and staffing to optimize workflow and maintain high standards of patient care. Oversee the performance of diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-ray, CT scans, PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, sonography, and nuclear medicine studies. Ensure all imaging equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and compliant with regulatory standards. Provide guidance and mentorship to radiologic technologists on best practices in aseptic technique, diagnostic evaluation, and emergency procedures. Collaborate with physicians in emergency room settings and Level I/II trauma centers to facilitate urgent care diagnostics. Monitor quality assurance programs to uphold accuracy in diagnostic imaging and reporting. Maintain comprehensive documentation of procedures, safety incidents, and departmental audits. Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and incorporate best practices into departmental operations. Qualifications Valid New York State ARRT license and current registration required Minimum of 1-2 years of radiology supervisory or leadership experience required Multi-modality experience required, along with at least one advanced modality certification/license such as CT or MRI Strong clinical knowledge across multiple imaging modalities preferred Previous experience in a fast-paced hospital or trauma center environment highly preferred
