Job Description

Local Team Collaboration:
We are seeking a nocturnist hospitalist to join our close-knit team of 6 physicians and 2 advanced practice providers (APPs) at Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital. We are also open to PRN physicians. Work alongside diverse clinicians from the Tri-state Area, including NYC, NJ, and the Hudson Valley. Our team collaborates closely and is encouraged to participate in medical committees, contributing to shared decision-making and professional development.
Qualifications:
Board-certified/eligible in family or internal medicine. Authorized to work in the United States.
Scheduling:
The full-time nocturnal physician position has a 7-on, 7-off rotation, and a PRN physician does not have a minimum shift commitment. We offer flexible scheduling options, including bi-monthly team gatherings that promote a supportive work environment and allow for a balanced approach to personal and outdoor pursuits. Our team values flexibility, ensuring you can enjoy time outside of work while maintaining professional commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
The care for medical and surgical patients in a Level 3 trauma community hospital with a 15-bed census, 5-bed ICU, and 22 inpatient psychiatry beds. Serve a diverse patient population in a low-volume ED with high acuity, providing essential specialty services such as cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, general surgery, urology, infectious disease, and podiatry. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a hospital that functions as a primary receiving stroke center, holds a geriatric-accredited emergency department, and serves as a department of corrections receiving facility. Collaborate with team members and utilize the hospital's outpatient clinic for coordinated care. Procedures are not required for the day position, but are required for the nocturnal role. Compensation:
