Job Description

Description The NYU Affiliated Psychiatry Service at Bellevue Hospital is recruiting per diem psychiatrists for its Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program ("CPEP"). The position offers participation in a vibrant multidisciplinary environment serving the psychiatric needs of New Yorkers. Bellevue Hospital is an integral part of New York City's Health and Hospitals, the nation's largest municipal health care system with the largest public psychiatry service in the country. It is the primary psychiatry and addictions training site for NYU medical students, psychiatry residents, fellows and psychology interns, and serves as a site for innovative multidisciplinary clinical research.
General responsibilities:
Provide psychiatric and medical care to all assigned patients in collaboration with nursing staff, other disciplines, and consultants from other services when applicable. Adhere to appropriate clinical documentation to ensure compliance with current standards of clinical practice and adherence to all regulatory and accreditation standards. Teach/supervise trainees and students as assigned. Maintain effective communication with patients, patients' families when applicable, and other disciplines.
Specific responsibilities:
Deliver care to patients as needed. Deliver care in accordance with specific behavioral plans for patients. Work closely with the medical providers assigned to inpatient psychiatry in order to assess and treat medical needs of patients.
Compliance:
Be familiar with all departmental policies and protocols. Complete all required activities related to maintaining credentialing and other mandates at both Bellevue and NYU Complete yearly flu vaccination and fit test requirements and documentation.
Documentation:
Ensure that all documentation in the EMR is accurate and complete. Complete legal documents on patients if applicable. Qualifications Graduation from an approved medical school. Completion of a residency in psychiatry at an approved institution Possession of clinical and other skills ensuring competence in completion of specified duties
License & Credentials:
