Job Description

(Physician/MD qualifications required) Hematology and Oncology - Join 5 board-certified Hematologist|Oncologists in a hospital employed position located within the 5 boroughs of New York City. The practice also has 5 board-certified Oncology Nurses and 4 medical Assistants. The reason for the opening is that one of the physicians will be leaving the practice to care for an ill family member. 5 day work week, 8-4 PM. Each physician will average 15 patients per day when in clinic. Patient population is mostly Medicaid and Medicare. Mostly an underserved population. The office is brand new, 10,000 sq feet with 12 exam rooms and 20 infusion chairs. They have a full lab staffed by two board-certified Oncology Pharmacists. Call is 1 week in 4 where they provide inpatient consults at the hospital. While on IP service, physicians will work in the office and go the hospital when needed. During this week, physicians take night telephone call and weekend telephone call during the following weekend. Under either circumstance, call is telephone only and the physicians never have to go into the hospital unless it is a dire emergency. Residents and some Medical Students will be with you at times when you are on call. The practice works out of one hospital, located two blocks from the office. Shuttle service is available between the office and the hospital. Ideally, the practice is looking for a team player and someone that has a friendly bedside manner. Physicians average $380,000 - $480,000 per year based on individual production. Those that work harder, make more. Full benefits are provided including Life, Medical, Dental, Long and Short term disability, 26 vacation days, 5 days for CME and 8 holidays. Occurrence malpractice and Medical School loan repayment.
