Psychiatry Opportunity | Ogdensburg, NY North Star Health Alliance Are you a dedicated Psychiatrist looking for a balanced professional life in one of New York's most scenic regions? Join the North Star Health Alliance in Ogdensburg, situated on the beautiful St. Lawrence River. Whether you enjoy the charm of the 1000 Islands, the peaks of the Adirondacks, or the international flair of nearby Ottawa, this role offers a high quality of life both inside and outside the clinic. The Opportunity We are seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified (BE/BC) Adult or Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our established behavioral health team. In this role, you will lead the clinical care for patients within our secure unit, providing expert psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and specialized treatment planning to support stabilization and recovery.
Key Responsibilities Comprehensive Care:
Conduct holistic psychiatric evaluations to diagnose and manage acute and chronic mental health illnesses.
Clinical Intervention:
Provide pharmacological management, psycho-education, and crisis intervention.
Collaboration:
Work alongside an established team of psychiatrists and clinicians to review health assessments and treatment plans.
Patient Continuity:
Conduct follow-up appointments to ensure the long-term success of patient treatment plans.
Schedule:
Primarily Day Shift with shared on-call duties (including nights/days for at least one weekend per month).
Qualifications Education:
MD or DO from an accredited program.
Certification:
Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Psychiatry or Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Inpatient Experience:
Comfortable working within an inpatient unit and providing hospital-wide consultations.
